The Production

Redeeming Love is an independent feature film starring Abigail Cowen, Famke Janssen and Nina Dobrev. The production had 7 actors with contractual stills approval rights, each with different minimum percentages they were required to approve. Some differentiated between solo and group images whilst others had a flat 50% mandatory approval rate. Across the 30 days of production covered by stills photography, the team had several thousand images to sort through.

WTA Media engaged ImageApprovals to help streamline the entire approvals process — allowing the production team to maintain full control while removing the burden of manual coordination with talent representatives.

Our Solution

WTA Media chose our In-House package, giving them the ability to manage their images themselves and keep costs down without sacrificing quality or control.

• We set up accounts for the film, the actors, and the production team, then provided Welcome Packs containing each actor’s unique login credentials and a brief user guide.
• Actors and their representatives were able to complete approvals entirely online, without requiring any support from us or the production office.
• The production team could track each actor’s progress in real time — seeing when they had completed approvals without needing to chase representatives directly.
• WTA Media uploaded all images from Redeeming Love — regardless of whether they depicted actors with approval rights — creating a single master list of all useable assets. This saved hours of work when packaging cleared images for distribution.
• Once all approvals were complete, the production team downloaded approval reports detailing every cleared image.

Going the Extra Mile

When the Redeeming Love production hit an unexpected hurdle — their photographer had moved on and the in-house team were unfamiliar with processing RAW files — we stepped in with free 1-2-1 training on Adobe Bridge, a digital asset management tool widely used by professional photo labs.

We demonstrated how to:

• Save JPG duplicates of RAW files at multiple output sizes
• Tag, rate and label images for efficient workflows

We also provided the training as a written PDF step-by-step guide, along with links to our Help and Support portal, so the team could refer back at any time. We then created accounts for each of their actors and supplied Welcome Packs to production ready to forward on.
