A huge congratulations to all the nominees and winners at the Golden Globes 2021 — yet another year of incredible filmmaking, this time overcoming the extraordinary challenges of COVID-19.
Our client The Father had an exceptional awards campaign, earning four nominations at the 78th Golden Globe Awards including:
- Best Drama Motion Picture
- Best Screenplay
- Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture — Olivia Colman
- Best Actor in a Motion Picture — Sir Anthony Hopkins
The Production
The Father is a feature film directed by Florian Zeller and starring Sir Anthony Hopkins and Olivia Colman. The production is a cinematic adaptation of Zeller’s stage play of the same name, and went on to become one of the most celebrated films of its awards season.
The production engaged ImageApprovals using our In-House option — giving the production team direct control while we provided the platform, workflow, and support infrastructure to manage approvals efficiently.
How They Used ImageApprovals
The Father team processed just over 3,000 images across 8 days of photography, with 6 actors holding approvals rights.
The film’s unit photographer was provided with their own user account, enabling them to upload images directly to our online approvals platform as they were taken. This meant the unit publicist could begin tagging cast immediately, keeping the workflow moving without waiting for batch deliveries.
We provided the production with Welcome Packs for the talent — covering everything cast and their representatives needed to log in and complete the approvals process smoothly, without requiring any support time from the production office.
Platform Improvements Since The Father
